Stroll among the old and young trees in the Castle Park Arboretum
Arboretum is the Latin term for a collection of different types of trees from the continents of the world.
In the Castle Park, you’ll find a collection of numerous trees and shrubs from different continents and countries. Around 200 of them are labelled with a brief explanation of their name and origin.

However, an arboretum is not a place to learn botany. It’s a place to experience trees. Let yourself drift along paths and meadows—soak up the power of the trees and listen to the rustling of leaves in the wind.
path layout and artificially created flower beds. On the other side of the Town Hall Bridge, finally, is the Castle Park, designed to be as close to nature as possible. With natural-looking groups of trees and shrubs, it has a loose, open feel.
The arboretum’s trees create a link between these very contrasting green spaces. Young, newly planted trees and older ones—some dating back to the creation of the Spa Park—can be found along the route.
Entry encouraged
The parks stretch over a length of around 1.2 kilometres. If you want to experience the individual character of the trees, go up to them. Along the paths and across the meadows. Make your own way and explore the arboretum—this is explicitly encouraged.
