Bad Vilbel also stands for RELAXING
Along our hiking trails, in the extensive park areas and along the riverside paths of the little river Nidda, you will find a variety of rest and picnic spots with attractive furniture. They are ideal for a break and a picnic between the many leisure activities Bad Vilbel has to offer. Many places are also deliberately designed for pausing and relaxing; they are located in the middle of nature, often with a beautiful view of the surrounding region.
A special place for a rest – the dialogue islands
At six particularly beautiful locations, highly original places to relax await visitors. We call them dialogue islands (positions 01 to 06 on the map). Each consists of three comfortable loungers arranged so that you can not only rest, enjoy and take in the view, but also have a lively conversation. Why not give it a try?
Sustainable outdoor furniture made from ocean plastic
The outdoor furniture was created using a special 3D printing process from plastic waste fished out of the oceans. They are absolute Bad Vilbel originals in the Hessentag colours.
Relaxing on the riverside terraces
At two locations, seating steps (07 and 08) have been set into the riverbank slope of the Nidda, so that you can enjoy the river gliding by right by the water and simply unwind: in the area of the Kurpark, near the Kneipp facility and below the Old Mill. At the Old Mill, you can also get drinks on this terrace. But that is not a must.
The best view of the historic spa park
The Nidda Rondell (09) is a seating area based on a historic model, above the spa park, on the Nidda riverside path. It is there for resting and taking in the view.
A special excursion destination: art and tranquility in the Massenheim Aue
The Massenheim Aue (10) offers a special opportunity for relaxation. It represents one of Bad Vilbel’s many cultural offerings. A pleasant path leads far away from road traffic along the green ribbon of the Erlenbach. The entire path is accompanied by sculptural art in public spaces – free of charge for strolling along the works.
