A sunlit cobblestone street with old half-timbered houses and stone walls, covered with climbing plants and lined with scattered shadows – a picturesque European village, ideal for hikes near Frankfurt or exploring the hiking trails in the Wetterau.

HISTORIC

OUR OLD TOWN

The market square with the Old Town Hall and the Fountain Museum forms Bad Vilbel’s historic centre; the Town Hall Bridge is even the birthplace of the town. After all, old trade routes crossed here; travellers had to ford the River Nidda, and the tolls provided a good living. Then as now, markets and events take place here, and hiking trails through and around the town start from here.

What a contrast to the town centre: the Old Town has a relaxed feel. Historic little houses line Lohstraße, with the Old Mill in the middle, right on the Nidda. Stopping, lingering and enjoying is a must here.
