Discover & Experience

Water is Bad Vilbel’s most important element. The Nidda helped the town develop, as trade routes crossed it at a ford. The healing and mineral water brought Bad Vilbel prosperity and renown.

Today, the Nidda and its surroundings form a green ribbon that runs through all of Bad Vilbel and into the districts of Dortelweil and Gronau. No roads intrude—as is often the case along rivers elsewhere—to spoil the pleasure of strolling through the parks on both banks, which later give way to renaturalised, natural riverbanks.

Each stretch has its own charm and offers a variety of places to experience and unwind at short intervals.

The many bridges let you switch sides of the river so you can explore it all.
