From Bad Vilbel along the Regional Park Circular Route (West Side Day Tour)

Day tour through the Vordertaunus to the mouth of the Main River
This day tour follows the western section of the cycling route through the Vordertaunus landscapes to the mouth of the Main River. Along the way, you will encounter orchards, fields, and wetlands, as well as artworks and historical sites. Viewpoints and play areas also offer fresh perspectives on the surrounding cultural landscape. Experience a wide range of leisure activities in the surprisingly diverse Rhine-Main region.
This cycling tour starts in Bad Vilbel on the banks of the Nidda and ends at the Wiesbaden-Kastel S-Bahn station. The return journey is then on the S1 or S9, changing at Frankfurt Taunusanlage on the same platform to the S6, which takes you back to Bad Vilbel. Taking bicycles on board is free of charge.
The cycling tour can be ended at the Eschborn or Hattersheim S-Bahn stations, shortening it to 42 km or 60 km respectively. The tour can also be completed in the opposite direction.
The Volcano Cycle Path largely follows the route of the former Oberwaldbahn, an old railway line that led from Lauterbach over the Vogelsberg mountain range and through the Wetterau region to Frankfurt.

Spectacular panoramic views open up in all directions, from the settlements in the valley to the Frankfurt skyline and the Ronneburg hills.
The cycling route “Around Bad Vilbel” is a 23-kilometer, easy-to-ride, highly varied circular cycling route with gentle inclines. It touches not only the core city of Bad Vilbel but also all its districts: Dortelweil, Gronau, Heilsberg, and Massenheim. Everywhere there are special features to discover, including nature, water, art, culture, and regional cuisine.
