Fascinating and vibrant
\nThe Roman Mosaic<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1692344853989{margin-top: 30px !important;margin-bottom: 50px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]A glass pavilion near the spa park houses the reconstruction of a Roman mosaic that was once part of a bathhouse. This masterpiece of ancient mosaic art is considered the most beautiful in all of Germany. It depicts mystical sea creatures, grotesque hybrid beings, and real animals gathered around the sea god Oceanus. <\/p>\n

The partially preserved original was discovered in 1849 at today’s S\u00fcdbahnhof (South Station) in the remains of a Roman bath complex.<\/p>\n

The faithful reconstruction captivates with its vibrancy: the water flows \u2013 as in antiquity \u2013 over the mosaic, seemingly bringing the figures to life.
