Starting points: Bad Vilbel-S\u00fcd S-Bahn station (with a short feeder path), G\u00fcnther-Biwer-Platz, at the marketplace, by the Nidda behind the swimming pool (inaccessible until approx. 2024 due to construction work), at the festival grounds \u2013 Niddaweg access.<\/p>\n

On this walking trail, everything revolves around Bad Vilbel’s most important element \u2013 water. Today, the Nidda is the city’s green soul and also its historical lifeline. Always within sight of the river, you can enjoy a relaxed walk on well-maintained, level paths past interesting buildings, renatured river sections, and inviting spots to linger and feel at ease. <\/p>\n

But it wasn’t just the visible water that contributed to the city’s vibrant development; the medicinal and mineral springs found here due to the unique geological conditions led to bustling activity in up to 30 bottling plants at times. Various drinking fountains invite you to taste the healthy and refreshing water. <\/p>\n

Along the way, there is a wealth of information on the city’s multifaceted themes, the mineral springs, historical life and work by the river, bridges, and buildings. Those arriving by public transport can reach the Nidda from the Bad Vilbel S\u00fcd S-Bahn station in just a few minutes on foot via well-signposted paths. Always surrounded by green spaces and away from car traffic, you will pass the VILCO congress center, the historic Kurhaus, the spa gardens (Kurpark), and the moated castle (Wasserburg) with its castle park. With the castle in view, it’s a wonderful spot for a picnic. Kneipp pools, a barefoot path, and the Aquapark with its water playground offer activity and fun for all generations. <\/p>\n

You can take a look at the Roman Well (R\u00f6merbrunnen) via a specially constructed walkway. In the subsequent renaturation area, there is information about the local wildlife. After turning back, the route returns on the other side of the river, passing Gerberpark, the Old Mill (Alte M\u00fchle), and through the old town. <\/p>\n

The marketplace charms visitors with its historic buildings, such as the Old Town Hall and the Fountain and Bath Museum, which perfectly complements the information along the trail with its interesting exhibition.
